Welcome to our Studio
Mind Body Movement came about from a dream and a kick in the ass!
It was the universe telling me to get off my bum, stop dragging my feet and really go for what I wanted in life - running my own Yoga & Pilates Studio!

Passionate about communication and fed up with the stressful corporate communication world, a few years ago Pili decided to go deeper and simpler in her understanding of communication.
Nowadays in this fast-paced world full of stimuli, we often forget to stop and listen to ourselves in order to understand how our body and mind communicate with us. Yoga and meditation as a practice allows you to centre and reconnect with your true essence, to be able to relax, bring awareness to some obstacles or blockages that might be stopping your own growth and allows you to set yourself free to shine, while feeling healthy and light.
Pili has been practising yoga on and off the mat for 8 years and recently has completed her 200h YTT with Ashram Yoga and has been sharing yoga with whoever is curious enough to live a more conscious and fulfilling life.
Studio Pilates Certified
Being passionate about natural health and well-being, Katie became a Qualified Massage Therapist 7 years ago, and in 2015 Katie started her own natural health business (Garden of Eden). Always having an interest in the fitness industry and seeing the awesome results that Pilates can have for injury rehabilitation and general well-being, Katie became a Qualified Mat Instructor through Studio Pilates. Working at a luxury health club in Melbourne, she gained some experience taking Pilates classes and one-on-one sessions with clients. Katie then went on to become a Qualified Pilates Reformer Instructor.
"I believe in a mindful approach to Pilates, learning the basics of how to breathe and building a stable foundation to progress your practice, whatever your fitness level or where you may be on your personal wellness journey."
In 2013, Christine started practising yoga on a Friday morning in Ohope with Amy, whilst she was still recovering from 5 years of multiple knee surgeries and the devastating news that her husband had stage 4 cancer (he survived and is still alive today ). At the time, she felt disabled physically and traumatised emotionally, and was looking for something to help her feel at ease in her body and mind once again.
Within 6 months of practising twice a week, everything had changed...a shift had happened and she knew she wanted to know more about the tradition of Yoga.
Christine continued her yoga journey, completing an immersive yoga teacher training (something that had been on her bucket list): "I was the oldest student there but I quickly realised that age is just a number...I learnt so much from this experience, but the true revelation was how little I actually knew!"
Christine's favourite quote concerning the teaching of yoga is, "The pose..or movement, is simply a container for an experience"... and that magic is what she endeavours to bring to her classes.
Christine now teaches the very class she started practising in--Friday morning Vinyasa Flow.
SHARON 'SHAZ' CARLTON
RYT 200, Qualified Health and Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer for 38 years.
Shaz completed her Yoga Teacher Training with Anahata Yoga in Koh Phangan, Thailand.
Initially Shaz dipped in and out of yoga during her extensive years of working in the Health and Fitness industry but did not recognise the true value of yoga until participating in Amy’s classes 6 years ago.
At first, Sharon attended classes as a pro-active approach to injury prevention while engaging in cycling, running, weight-training and teaching fitness classes. It wasn't until a bit later that Shaz was inspired to deepen her yoga journey.
When she stepped off her mat she felt stronger, refreshed, re-vitalised, balanced, and nourished but most of all, felt an inner glow of happiness.
"I wish to bring the community of Mind Body and Movement my love and passion for teaching, and my love of all aspects of Yoga. I hope my teaching brings connection, with a spirit of playfulness, inspiration, motivation and authentic heartfelt compassion while maintaining the integrity of the process.
Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully on and off the mat."
